Red Bull Arts Detroit is committed to advancing the conversations surrounding contemporary art. As such, it is vital to support art writing—both as a record of ongoing arts practices and a prompt for future projects. Our Visiting Writer Fellowship offers a flexible way to engage with Detroit’s arts community. Red Bull Arts Detroit will provide travel to Detroit, accommodations, and a $2,000 stipend to develop a piece of writing and a public program. The Visiting Writer Fellowship takes place over a two-month period and allows for two visits to Detroit, the first for research, and the second to present a public program such as a talk, a workshop, or a similar initiative.
