Miatta Kawinzi is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer & educator. She explores the figure, the inner & outer landscape, and culture as sites of re-imagination & possibility. She works with images, objects, sound, space, the body, and language. Born in 1987 in Nashville, TN to a Liberian mother and Kenyan father, she is based in Brooklyn, NY. Recent exhibition sites of her work include BRIC and the Studio Museum in Harlem (NY), Aljira Center for Contemporary Art (NJ), and the FNB Joburg Art Fair (South Africa). Kawinzi received a BA in Interdisciplinary Art & Cultural Theory from Hampshire College and an MFA in Studio Art from Hunter College. She has been awarded artist residencies at spaces including the Cité internationale des arts (Paris, France, with Lower Manhattan Cultural Council), the Bag Factory (Johannesburg, South Africa), and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (Omaha, NE).

Patrick Quarm was born in the post-colonial town Sekondi, Ghana in 1988. Currently living and practicing in the United States, he graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana (2012) with a BFA in Painting and a Masters of Fine Art degree at Texas Tech University (2018). Patrick’s work has been showcased around the world at K.N.U.S.T Museum Kumasi, Ghana; Peckham International Art Fair (PIAF), London, England; Caviel Museum of African American History, Lubbock, Texas. He has also served as a teaching assistant and Adjunct Professor for painting and drawing courses in both Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Texas Tech University.

Tiff Massey is an interdisciplinary artist from Detroit, Michigan. She holds an MFA in metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her work, inspired by African standards of economic vitality, includes both large-scale and wearable sculptures, music and performance. Massey counts the iconic material culture of 1980’s hip-hop as a major influence in her jewelry. She uses contemporary observances of class and race through the lens of an African diaspora, combined with inspiration drawn from her experience in Detroit.

Tiff Massey is a 2015 Kresge Arts in Detroit Fellowship awardee, as well as a two-time John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s Knight Arts Challenge winner and a Michigan Chronicle 40 Under 40 award recipient. Massey has participated in several international residencies including Ideas City (in Detroit, Athens, Greece and Arles, France) hosted by The New Museum of New York and with the Volterra-Detroit Foundation in Volterra, Italy. Tiff Massey’s work has been widely exhibited in both national and international museums and galleries.
